The Bayside Parklands offer a range of recreational activities for all interests and ages. Available along the entire 16-kilometer stretch of Parkland covering the Wynnum, Manly and Lota foreshore are facilities such as picnic tables, public barbecues, sports areas, walking tracks and boardwalks.
Barbecue and picnic areas are located along the foreshore at intervals from Wynnum to Lota. These areas are great for children as they provide numerous playgrounds, all recently upgraded and located in shady, safe environments with seating available for parents.
Swimming is also available throughout the Bayside Parklands with Wynnum Beach and the Wading Pool located at Pandanus Beach. The Eastwood Beach at Manly is also great for swimming with picnic areas, Barbecues and a playground available. Open grassy areas positioned along the foreshore are used for sports and other activities such as kite flying. The foreshore itself is perfect for running, walking or cycling.
If you're interested in Wynnum Manly's natural environment, Mangrove Boardwalks are located at both Wynnum North and Lota. These exciting walks allow you to wander amidst the abundance of animal and plant life active in the Mangrove forests, an ideal location for bird watching. The walking tracks in bushland such as the Melaleuca Environmental Park are also great for taking in the wildlife.
The scenery and atmosphere of the Bayside Parklands are perfect for hosting special occasions. Areas such as the landscaped bridge leading to an ornate pavilion at Dreveson Park were specifically designed with weddings in mind.
The Wynnum Manly community maintains the Bayside Parklands with pride. A day out enjoying the parklands by the foreshore, or wandering through bushland or mangroves will not disappoint.
